Tyler Harding, a Seventeen year old home-schooled high school student

Guest Speaker for March Meeting

The Greater Irving Republican Club will have their monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Spring Creek Barbeque, 3515 W. Airport Freeway, Irving TX 75061.  Please come at 6:00 PM if you plan to have dinner.  The meeting starts at 7:00 PM.

Our speaker for March is Tyler Harding, a seventeen year old home-schooled high school student.  Three years ago, he began Team Policy Debate with NCFCA, (National Christian Forensic Communications Association) and for three consecutive years advanced to the national finals.  He was the Texas State Champion in Team Policy debate in 2008, 2009, and again in 2010.  Also during the 2009-2010 season, Ty joined another Christian home school debate league and became a dual-league competitor.  He progressed to the National Championship Team Policy Debate, where he and his partner placed third in the nation and he won the Top Speaker Award.

This year, Ty earned a third place trophy for the Lincoln-Douglas debate and a first place and Top Speaker Award in Parliamentary Debate.  He is the assistant coach of the Speak Out North Texas Team Policy Debate Club.

Ty has also served on the Irving Teen Court for three years as a Prosecutor and as a Defense Attorney.  He is serving as the Lead Prosecutor this year.  His consuming passions include government and history and his personal ambitions include spreading academic  forensics and sitting on the Supreme Court.

Ty will speak on Our Country's Foundational Principles.
